Stripe’s expansion, CYBS’s credit card, Sumup’s payments and Payoneer in payments this week

  • Stripe has made its products available to businesses in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg
  • Yoyo Wallet, the British mobile payments app, has raised £12m from investors to fund its expansion in Europe and the US. The app is used to handle payments in 1,700 outlets, including over 60 UK and Irish universities and retailers such as Caffe Nero and Planet Organic.
  • B, CYBG’s digital bank, has launched its first credit card proposition which offers cardholders free overseas spending, an interest rate of 9.9% and no balance transfer fees
  • SumUp has launched a number of new payment functionalities that allow businesses to accept payments online
  • Form3, the cloud-based end-to-end secure standard for global payments processing, has announced a partnership with Starling Bank. The agreement will give Form3’s clients’ access to Faster Payments
  • Payoneer, a US-based business-to-business online payments service provider, has opened an office in London
  • PayPal has announced that its US users will soon be able to make money transfers to their bank accounts via debit cards linked to their PayPal account. The service, currently in beta, will cost $0.25 per transfer and will also be available on Venmo, the company’s mobile payment service
  • Samsung has announced that Samsung Pay is now available to HSBC, First Direct and M&S cardholders in the UK. More partners, including American Express, will also be announced soon
